Melbourne Animal Rescue Inc.
Melbourne Animal Rescue Incorporated (MAR) is a not-for-profit Charity organisation in Melbourne, Australia. Since our inception in July 2010, we have responsibly rescued and rehoused over 800 dogs and cats.
Over 250,000 dogs and cats are unnecessarily killed across Australia each year. It is easy to be overwhelmed by the enormity of the problem of our companion pets being killed, however by focusing on each individual animal’s life and how we can impact their future, we are making a difference.
We focus on ‘quality over quantity’ – ensuring we thoroughly rehabilitate and assess the needs of every animal in our care, whilst still rescuing as many animals as we possibly can. We are 100% volunteer run and rely on donations and our fundraising efforts to continue our vital work.

There are so many ways you can help us help the animals! Adopting, fostering, volunteering, donating, or just spreading the word; all of these actions will further our cause and indirectly help to save more lives. The more people who know of the overwhelming odds that discarded Victorian animals face, the less likely they will be to put them in that position. With your help, we can achieve great things!
